Welcome to Rocky Raccoon, a charming vintage chalet tucked among the towering pines of Idyllwild. With treetop and ridgeline views, a peek-a-boo view of iconic Lily Rock, and inviting indoor and outdoor spaces, this peaceful retreat is made for slowing down and enjoying the mountains.
Step inside to soaring open-beamed pine ceilings and a cozy wood-burning fireplace that give the living room its classic mountain character. Large sliding doors connect the living space to the front deck, bringing the surrounding trees and views right into the cabin.
Outside, the spacious deck is one of Rocky Raccoon’s highlights. Start your morning with coffee and birdwatching among the pines, gather around the outdoor dining area, or settle into the seating and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

"The check in process was a little delayed since they sent instructions via text instead of talking to someone in the office. The service can be spotty up there so I don’t blame the rental company. The cabin was close to the town center which was nice. But that does mean your neighbors are close and you’ll hear people talking if you leave the windows open. The couch and living room were cozy and we were able to utilize the fireplace during our stay. The beds and dining room chairs however were lumpy, hard and uncomfortable. The shower wouldn’t drain but the restroom was clean (they said they’d fix that issue but I hadn’t told them till I checked out). Felt a little unsafe using the hot tub in the evening since there were no outside lightbulbs. There was a weird smell in the kitchen I couldn’t put my finger on but it didn’t really affect my stay since we didn’t do that much cooking. It is a pretty cabin and was clean. Overall not a bad stay if you’re trying to get out for a weekend. "
