Had a great time very nice owners, views were great! it was right next to the side of the mountian so you could see for miles. Very spacious living area and nice big kitchen.
Rooms were just fine for sleeping and beds were comfy.
Lots of stairs to go up but it's worth it.
Tub tub views were really quite nice also and Great for sunsets
In the sun there's cool lizards all over the back rock area that like to check you out also. Large squirrels and many birds in the area as well.
hiking trials are super close and numerous. many within 5-10min drive.
The town is so cool def spots to check out is the many eatery's, the brewpub, the vintage Store on the second level main town and the winery's
We've been meaning to stay here for years and finally went: saw a deer in the yard, nice of them to have binoculars and a telescope, if you expect to use a hot tub make sure to ask about it when you reserve. Ultimately check-in was very smooth and easy, but as an old-school paper person (who procrastinates) the request for a copy of ID before arrival was worrying. Everyone was pleasant and responsive during our stay (we got some help sorting out TV remotes).
Had a really enjoyable weekend celebrating some friends. Love the deck, weather was perfect.
I've stayed with New Spirit's properties a few times now and each time I am never disappointed. In fact, I'm surprised with how simple, fun, clean, organized and easy each stay is. I'm a big fan of this company and was blown away by this property. The view is amazing (hence the name). We stayed for 4th of July (2017) with a handful of friends and lounged on the deck while playing music and dipping in the hot tub. If you're looking for a great service and an easy, relaxing experience, New Spirit is for you. And so is The View!
We have been vacationing at Lilly Rock Lodge for about 5 Years. We love the tasteful rustic cabin decor, the open floor plan which allows for comfortable family gatherings. We love everything - pool table, games, jacuzzi, outdoor deck ,multiple window views of Lilly rock and surrounding Mountains. The kitchen has all the necessary cookware to cook a family meal. Thank you for continuing to provide an awesome experience. The Spirit rental company was excellent providing the information we needed for an awesome stay.
This house was the perfect spot for a relaxing and rejuvenating weekend. The house has giant windows overlooking Strawberry Creek below and Suicide Rock above. An incredible location to say the least. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a great meal. The hot tub was HOT and had great jets. The Master Bedroom was hard to leave. The windows looking out at the mountain are like a massive nature TV. I could have watched the birds soar and the trees sway for hours each morning. This place is a real gem and we'll be back!
Great getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday city life. The house was equipped with everything we needed. We are looking forward in returning to Idyllwild.
Sunset Perch was the perfect location for our recent getaway. What a view!! Gorgeous sunrise and sunset. The cabin had everything to make our stay pleasant. Kitchen was equipped for all our cooking/baking needs. The bbq and hot tub was a big plus. Very peaceful location and cabin was very cozy and inviting. Love all the big windows. Overall, a very enjoyable stay. Thank you.
This is a wonderful place to stay. It is close to town and is in a quiet area and very clean!
We loved the Cozy Cottage. We found it clean & comfortable. The kitchen was well supplied & easy to maneuver. But what was the icing on the cake was the large easily accessible deck. Since we were there for summer we "lived" on that deck morning to evening. Beautiful views from all directions gave it the feeling of being away deep in the forest, yet were in walking distance to town & just off Hy.243.

Place was very clean and perfect location. I've been around the place several times over the years since my mom lives across the street. We rented because we had extra family and it worked out great. I wish it was better weather, but that's how it goes. Idyllwild is a great little community. If the need arises get rent again, we certainly will.
Great Cabin - Lots of room and easy walk to town / big yard. Only thing I'd note is while the backyard is fenced in, if you have a smaller dog, not sure the fence would keep them in, and there was one place we had to move some stuff to block a missing section of fence. Not an issue with our St. Bernard though (who liked the cabin and yard as well) and is just way too big and clumsy to escape.
Sky Rock Lodge is very comfortable. We loved the location, the property itself, and the layout of the house. The kitchen was easy to use, the bedrooms private and nice, and the deck was lovely to have breakfast outside. We were lucky and saw live music every day of the 3 days in town and experienced a short thunderstorm!
The whole process was fairly simple and straightforward upon check in. Everything was as the pictures showed. Great view of the golf course as the 3rd green is in your backyard. My family came and watched me the play the 3rd and tee off on the par 3, 4th. Amenities are great down to the really nice air mattresses. Would stay and recommend again.

We had a wonderful, cozy weekend retreat. Proximity to the main town was very convenient and we loved the house's little upstairs TV nook.
Our family consisting of 6 adults, 1 2-month-old child and 3 dogs had a great weekend in Idyllwild this last weekend. We stayed at the 3 Gazing Stars home and it was perfect. Great views and close to town. Couldn't ask anything better.
This home is a 24 hour delight. No matter the time of day as long as the moon is out, you can step out on the deck and enjoy the beauty and quiet of the Mountains. It is close enough to the center of town to hear the activities of the day waft over the pines but not close enough to become annoyed with traffic noise. Lots of stairs to help build your leg muscles through daily living. New appliances and the staff responded quickly to any of our concerns. Lovely visit.
This is a great location. Plenty of walking from the doorstep , close to town, private , good views. Big Living Room windows to enjoy the trees and view. Enjoyed coffee on the deck. Beds comfortable . Kitchen well stocked . New Spirit good to work with .
We arrived at dusk and quickly built a fire. From the skylights above we could hear the rain and hunkered down with a couple good books from the owner’s library. We ate a pizza we bought from Fratello’s down in the village, and drifted off to sleep in the comfy bedroom upstairs. As we discovered, the downstairs has accommodations for 6 in two more bedrooms and full bath (the upstairs has a full bath as well). The skylit kitchen has every appliance and utensil imaginable, including brand new fridge and soundless dishwasher. The enormous wrap-around deck, partially under a large overhang, provided a great dog run when it was raining. The cabin is sited at the end of a private driveway, and angled for privacy. Hard to leave it a few days later, but we will be back!
Overall, I would describe our stay at the Lilac House as magical. The home has a cabin in the woods rustic feel that made us feel that we were alone in the woods despite being in the middle of a neighborhood. We spent mornings with Campfyre Coffee on the deck and evenings in the hot-tub watching the stars. My only complaints were the lack of curtains on the front windows, and some windows didn't open or needed to be propped to stay open but, added to the rustic charm.
This was a great place to stay after having proposed to my new fiancee on top of Tahquitz. It was clean and cozy had a very nice master bedroom and bathroom arrangement. The fireplace and jacuzzi were both wonderful for relaxing after our climb. I would recommend this place to others.
The house was unique, big and very clean. Great location and 1/2 mile walk to town in the snow was fun!
The Dairy Farm was so lovey and well appointed. The uniqueness and charm added so much to our stay.
We had a lovely stay at this adorable studio. It was close to town, and came with it’s own private gated yard and Hot tub. It was perfect for a get away to the mountains. Just charming.
This little cottage was the PERFECT one-person-plus-dog getaway destination. We came up from LA for the 4th of July week to escape from the fireworks mayhem in the city, and I'm happy to say the loudest noise we heard the whole time was the tree frogs. This is a sweet little cottage, with all the amenities that were promised: total privacy, comfy bed, TV (once I figured out how to use it), good wifi, nice kitchen and bathroom, enough space to spread out a bit, a fine hot tub, and best of all, a private fenced yard for the dog to run around in. We hiked a little, went to town for coffee and groceries, and I had a wonderful massage down the road. I'm so happy to have found this little haven of peace and quiet.
We loved our long weekend in Idyllwild at Golden Sunshine. This is a very charming, welcoming home with everything you need for a relaxing weekend in the woods. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking great meals, the living spaces were great for playing games, watching movies and hanging out with friends. We spent some time playing games on the deck and would have loved a few more adirondack chairs for watching the sunset, but other than that we had the best time. Would recommend for couples and families looking for a spacious home in a relaxing environment with excellent views. Also, an easy 7 min drive to town for food and amenities.
Our time at Golden Sunshine was magical. I t is a peaceful place perched on top of the mountainside. We sat on the wonderful wrap around deck and watched the sunset. We were there for a brief time but felt as if we got a lovely respite which renew and reentered us. Thank you for all that the New spirit star did to make our stay so great.
Our original rental was cancelled suddenly, and we were offered this house--a really, what a gift that was.
The home is spacious and quiet. The kitchen is well stocked (though items like sugar or oil may need to be purchased), and the hot tub is dreamy.
The tv has wifi compatibility and some apps (Netflix for sure)--but the tv is pretty tiny and there is a VCR (no DVD).
The home is very close to city center--it is walkable. We strongly recommend the doughnut shop in town.
Nice place for peace & quiet. Comfortable beds, a lot of areas for family. Close to town. Nice hot tub. I'd book again.
Everything was perfect: From the comfortable and well-equipped house, to the spectacular view, to the awesome hot tub. The people from New Spirit Vacation Homes were cordial, available and very accommodating on check-in and check-out times.
I had a great and peaceful time at the residence. Location and views are phenomenal. The property is well kept and has many amenities which includes a jacuzzi.
My friends and I stayed at this house for one night. Everything was absolutely gorgeous. The house was immaculately clean, the kitchen was well equipped and oh my God what a beautiful view!!!

Our party consisted of three brothers in our 70’s and 80’s. Two brothers are from out of state. The inside of the home was spotless. The rooms were expansive. We has some problems with. The TV (looking for local, live programming) but soon understood what you see is what you get. The bid selling point is the view. It is spectacular. All in all, it was great!

Enjoyed this cabin very much. It was spacious and easily fit 7 people. The Jacuzzi was a plus! Very quiet neighborhood.
Everything was as presented. The deck was amazing. We spent a lot of time outside, but were perfectly content to stay at the house rather than sightseeing. We were out each night shooting photos of the Milky Way perfectly framed between the trees off the deck. The house was not for people with significant disabilities, but we were very content there. We had an amazing time staying at Grande Vista in Idyllwild! The views were absolutely stunning and should sell you on the place on its own, but the house was incredibly cozy and heightened the experience even more. One of our nights, the winds knocked out the Idyllwild power supply (which can happen in the mountains), but New Spirit Vacation Homes was so helpful in bringing us flashlights and supplies! Honestly, that night with no power, looking at the amazing stars is one of my favorite memories from the trip! Thanks so much for making our stay so relaxing, safe, and wonderful!
We spent a weekend here and couldn't have asked for more. The staff was incredibly helpful and the cabin was amazing. Well stocked, lots of unexpected amenities, and overall a great stay. We'll definitely be back!
We rented with a group of 5. 2 parents and 3 older teenagers. Great views. A lot of space. Interesting layout but great with 3 living spaces for everyone to spread out. Love the deck and hot tub. Finding the house is a challenge. They almost need to have a map included in directions.
This was our second time staying at the Peaceful Pines, and we enjoyed it just as much as the first. The home is lovely, spacious, and so well appointed. We found the beds and linens wonderfully comfortable and the living room the perfect cozy gathering place. Our dogs loved exploring the fully fenced and flat backyard - such a rare find. We look forward to returning again soon!
The lodge is terrific. It's clean, well-stock, centrally located to both town and trails. It's both beautiful and pleasant to stay in and convenient.
Hello! We would just like to say that we had the most wonderful time at this cabin! It is beautifully decorated and so cozy. We sepnt a lot of time in here just relaxing and watching movies together. We even explored the creek a little bit (even thought it was freezing brrrr!) This place has somuch charm and is so perfect! We couldn't be happier in any other place :) We have visted (and lived) in Idyllwild many times and this by far was the best place. To anyone who wants to visit Idyllwild, I'll let them know to stay here! One day we'll be back to finish watching "The Lord of the Rings"! Thank you for the most wonderful time! - The Major Family
