Not great, smells like smoke and kind of dirty.

"The first thing we noticed was there’s no curtains over the front or back doors which are full glass and you can straight inside. It was a little anxiety inducing thinking someone could be looking inside with nothing to block the view. Also we noticed a strong smoke smell every time we stepped inside. Like a campfire, not tobacco or cannabis. We had to wash all our clothes because everything smelled like a campfire when we got home. Also, a few of the blankets and comforters, in addition to smelling like smoke, smelled like a wet dog. I don’t know if they were washed but they seemed so smelly and dirty we just put them on the floor in a corner.

There were some good things. It’s dog friendly and the fenced in backyard was a huge plus. Our puppy LOVED having space to explore the environment. Speaking of the backyard, there’s a cool hangout spot with some high top tables and chairs. It was a little dirty and needed to be wiped down but it wasn’t a big deal. The record player and records were a big plus. Great selection, of course we played Purple Rain, with a decent speaker set up. Kitchen has all utensils, pots, and pans you would need. The location is decent if you’re looking for a secluded spot close to the town.

All things considered, my wife would not stay here again because the smoke smell was just too much. That and the doors lacking curtains, which is such an easy fix. But that smoke smell might be permanent."

Peaceful Stay in Nature

"We loved this cozy cabin. The location is very close to town and the neighborhood was perfect for an evening stroll. We enjoyed eating dinner in the backyard, laying in the hammock and dancing around to the Prince (and other) albums. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed for preparing meals. We played Rummikub game on the huge dining table, neither of us had played before it’s fun, check it out. The bedroom had plenty of room to spread out our suitcases. I slept very comfortably. Overall a very peaceful stay! Loved listening to the birds! "

Sweet Mountain Cottage

"Stayed at Purple Rain for a quick getaway with my son and mother. The cabin is two minutes from town, one minute from an amazing playground and tucked into a lovely little neighborhood. It was peaceful and quiet. The living and dining area has floor to ceiling windows and beautiful views of the trees out front. It's set back from the road so it felt very private - hidden behind trees and huge boulders. We had a fire in the fireplace, made our meals and the kitchen had everything we needed. My son loved the piano - and I wished we had actual musicians with us to play the two acoustic guitars. We will book here again on our next visit. "

"Paisley Park West" offers everything you need to experience Idyllwild - indoor and outdoor entertaining with a sizeable kitchen table that seats nine with room to spare and an outdoor bar and Traegar Grill perfect for cookouts. We brought our pup with us and the home was fully equipped with doggy delights - food and water bowls, treats and a front yard full of wildlife to watch from the picture windows.

The home is conveniently located to beautiful hiking and the quaint center of town where you can take it local fare and libations including coffee, wine and beer. No matter which direction we headed for the day, Purple Rain was no more than five minutes away, serving as a home base for all of our weekend adventures.

Everything about checking in and out was convenient. We arrived later than expected and received a text with precise instructions on where to pick up the keys. Checking out was also a breeze, with both procedures neatly outlined in the binder at the house.
